Hotel and Guide - Angkor Wat Had the absolute best tour guide and driver for a two day private tour of the temples at Angkor Wat and surrounding area. Sam (WhatsApp 85512344476) was extremely knowledgeable and a perfect host planning our excursion, and explaining both the history and significance of the Temples we saw. I booked him and the excellent driver (Sopheat) through the hotel Shinta Mani Angkor Wat. I also highly recommend this hotel as the staff always bent over backwards to be nice and helpful. 4-day private tour of Angkor Wat and vicinities Are you looking for the best tour guide in Angkor Wat and Siem Reap? Look no further! If you choose Sopheara, you've just got one yourself. We hired Sopheara for 4 days to be our private guide for a small group of five friends. He arranged for us everything - from custom-tailored itinerary to accommodate our flight times and maximise the tour experience, through organising all the tickets and transportation, to selecting the best spots and perfect time to avoid big crowds. As a group of 5, we were traveling in a comfortable and spotlessly clean 9-person van, always supplied with unlimited cold water and refreshing wet towels. Within 4 days we visited all the main Angkor Wat temples and ruins. Many times we strode off the beaten path, avoiding the crowds and visiting hidden spots not available to tourist groups. Apart from the temples and ruins, Sopheara took us to a real fishermen village, an over 150 years old working monastery, hidden waterfalls with a beautiful spot for private swim, and many other like that. He chose for us the best places to lunch and dine in terms of taste, though with reasonable prices and local touch instead of pricey menus and fake decor. BTW, Cambodian cuisine is the best, most fresh and organic ever, eat none other and let Sopheara recommend some of the dishes for you. Thanks to his very good command of English, vast background in history and being the local-born man of the soil we could not only experience Angkor Wat's historical sites to the maximum extent possible, but also to glimpse into the real life of present-day Cambodia as well. Add to that beautiful Apsara dance show, quiet dinner in a chic restaurant in downtown Siem Reap, or magnificent and energetic showing of the Phare Cambodian Circus, and you have the full package only Sopheara can deliver. Not to mention all the minor changes and accommodations to our itinerary he could make on the spot as the need arise. There is only one bad thing about traveling in Angkor Wat with Sopheara. The best tour guide in Siem Reap I spent a week in Cambodia and luckily for me Sopheara was available. He is passionate about his country's history and this is reflected in his guiding services. Sopheara is always punctual, his vehicle was immaculate and most importantly for me his English is excellent! Nothing was too much trouble for this man. He drove me all the way to Battenbang so I can confirm his driving skills and knowledge of his country are second to none. Another of his passions is photography. He knows how and where to get the best shots. I have some wonderful photos to remember my visit. I highly recommend Sopheara as a tour guide.
