Our guide and driver will meet you at the hotel lobby at 6:30AM in the morning at this point we will departure to the remote and fascinating Koh Ker Group, one of Cambodia’s most impressive ancient temple complexes. Starting early allows you to enjoy the temples in the cooler morning hours and avoid the strongest midday heat. Arrive at Koh Ker and begin with the spectacular Prasat Thom, the main pyramid temple of the ancient Koh Ker capital. Climb the pyramid for a wonderful view over the surrounding Cambodian forest and learn about Koh Ker’s important role as the capital of the Khmer Empire during the 10th century. Continue around the Koh Ker temple loop, visiting several of the most remarkable temples and monuments, including:

• Prasat Linga: see the unique ancient Lingas and sacred features of the Koh Ker area.
• Prasat Banteay Pichean: (also known as Banteay Pir Choan) is a notable 10th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Brahma,
• Prasat Krachab: a number of these statues were looted, but have recently been repatriated to Cambodia, including the renowned Shiva and Skanda, his son, and Skanda on a peacock, and will be displayed in the National Museum of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.
• Prasat Damrei: also known as the Elephant Temple by remarkably detailed stone elephants carved at each corner of its base.
• Trapeang Ang Khnars: an ancient reservoir at the Koh Koer archaeological site featuring unique natural rock carvings of Hindu deities along its edges.
• Prasat Neang Khmau: a beautiful, lesser-visited temple surrounded by jungle
• Prasat Pram: famous for its atmospheric towers covered by enormous tree roots.

After exploring the main temples, finish the Koh Ker loop at Prasat Pram, one of the most atmospheric sites in the complex. It’s quiet setting and giant trees growing through the temple ruins make it a memorable final.

Take a lunch break at a local restaurant near Beng Mealea temple and enjoy authentic Cambodian cuisine before continuing your tour.

In the late afternoon, we will head to explore the Beng Mealea temple, a spectacular jungle temple located away from the main Angkor complex ruins, where fallen stones, galleries, towers and tree-covered structures create a wonderfully adventurous atmosphere. Beng Mealea is particularly impressive for its untouched appearance and maze-like layout.

After visiting Beng Mealea, begin the journey back to your accommodation, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening depending on traffic and your hotel location.
